Abstract
The increase in night-time light due to development projects is not only causing the negative impacts on human living environments such as sleep disorders, but also the environmental impacts disturbing the natural habitats. EIA and post-EIA monitoring of the development projects, owever, have yet to survey and assess the ecological impacts of night-time light properly, especially the impacts on the terrestrial insects. Therefore, this study looked into the current state and the problems of the night-time field survey on the terrestrial insects for present EIA, estimated the impacts caused by night-time light on the natural habitats of the terrestrial insects, and based on this, suggested the field survey guideline applicable to EIA for the night-time field survey of the terrestrial insects.
