Development of the model is based on previous research and experience accumulated over the past several years. While the model shares much commonality with other computable general equilibrium models used for the quantitative analysis in the field of climate change policy analysis and the economic impact analysis of environmental regulations, it has its own original modelling components such as, the existence of separated environmental protection and resource recycling activities as well as recursive dynamic features. These components contribute greatly to enlarging the scope of quantitative environmental policy analysis. Our empirical results show that the investment effect for the environmental industry can contribute, over the long run, to the recovery of GDP loss due to greenhouse gas emissions reduction. In addition, the introduction of new and renewable technology in the resource recycling industry may, simultaneously, accelerate GDP growth and improve the environment. The model, named as "KEI environment and economic model", was written in GAMS and solved with the PATH, MCP solver.
